I’m going to say something that shouldn’t be controversial but will be. If you are a Christian, you can support border control and immigration being legal vs illegal. You CANNOT celebrate deportations and get off on the cruelty, and be a real Christ follower. Period

no one talks about how soul-affirming it is to get a “had so much fun with you” text after hanging out. not a meme. not a tiktok. not a link. just a plain little sentence saying “i like you. i like your company.” we live for that.
like when someone sends “still smiling from earlier” hours after the hang. or when they walk you to your car even though it’s 30 feet away. that’s the kind of stuff that ruins me.
There’s a term in psychology called habituation: the way we stop noticing things we see often. A painting on the wall. A familiar view. Even a person’s kindness.
The brain filters the predictable to save energy. But in doing so, it risks filtering out what makes life feel full.

My wife suffered from terrible stomach bloating and the doctor prescribed Prilosec, which she didn't take because it doesn't really work. Later on we were exposed to some people with bad Covid and took Ivermectin as a precaution and, by the next morning, her stomach was flat.
It wasn't a cure, but it was significantly better than a PPI, and at least stopped the stomach acid damage and gave her time to address the root cause. It was so drastic to witness this that I'm having a hard time believing…
PPI's are very dangerous class of drugs. They do work in extreme cases, but far too many take them for conditions that can be cured with diet and natural remedies.

If so, would that then be God?
Or if God can not create something greater than itself, and God created us, then one thing that we can (conceivably) do that God cannot do is create something greater than us.
We can create something to surrender to.
So I’m unemployed, with no means of getting to an interview or a job, unable to afford my medication, waiting for an appointment to go enroll in the shelter system, trying to find a reason to continue living.
So of course the sister who accused me of trying to steal her inheritance when I offered to come home and care for our parents while she goes to work has picked this day to email me suggesting that I read the want ads, get off my fat ass, and get a job.
