4 years later 🗓⏳👣 In 2022 I went to my very first goddess/wiccan retreat. I had been avoiding the Goddess for years, hiding underneath academic research, pretending I didn’t see her behind stacks of books in the library, or feel her whispering to me “this is not the whole story” as I lost hours finding threads of her myths and rituals in peer reviewed journals.

In 2022 I came across this Artemis retreat in Vancouver and some inexplicable impulse led me to sign up for the last spot they had available. I’d say I was curious to meet witches and pagans and expand my learning of rituals in practice, but you all know the Goddess was tired of all my stalling and yanked me out of the servitude and stagnation my life had become and dared me to step into the life I deserved.

And so I did.

And She has been my constant companion, guardian and mentor ever since.

Note: May is the birthday month of Artemis. And so it’s not lost on me that in May of 2016 I passed my final exam for my doctorate, (academic goals) and in May of 2022 I stepped bravely on to the path of alignment into liberation and joy (personal goals). May is magic
