I’m attempting to play catch-up on a number of different tasks.
If I have promised you an ARC of the first book of the trilogy “The Dream that Carried Us, Unseen, and have not yet received it, please let me know, so that I may receive any comments before the release date of 7 April 2026.
Book 1: Unseen: The Dream That Hid Her
Unseen opens The Dream That Carried Us, a historical fiction trilogy following Anastazia “Chava” Holomek, a twelve-year-old Romani girl deported with her parents during the Nazi occupation of Europe. After narrowly escaping the eradication of the Zigeunerfamilienlager (“Gypsy Family Camp”), she is rescued by three Jewish women who teach her how to hide in plain sight. The novel explores survival through memory, dreaming, and quiet resistance, focusing on the inner life of a child navigating loss, identity, and belonging under genocidal persecution. Rather than graphic depiction, the story centers on resilience, chosen family, and the fragile ways people carry one another forward.
