The app for independent voices

As I work on an update to REST, I spent a good part of today reading Carol Shield's Jane Austen biography; various works on quilting, medieval silk guilds, and knitting; Sarah Knott's "Mother is a Verb;" and other sources to get a better picture of the creative lives of young mothers... only to find that Ursula K. Le Guin basically covered all this ground in 1989. Still not a bad way to spend a day, and the positive spin is, if Le Guin wrote about it, I must be on the right track: nytimes.com/1989/01/22/…
