If you’re my friend, I will watch your cat when you go on vacation. I will pick you up from that date that went sideways. I will hold your baby while you take a shower. It’s not weird or a burden to need help or to ask for help. I don’t need to “protect my peace” and I don’t see it as an “inconvenience.” I see it as part of being a friend.
