We live in a time that people are more inclined to obey an unlawful executive order than they are to follow a court order 🤦🏾‍♀️.

Dictators are created due to cruelty, cowardice, & compliance! IF THEIR ASSES will ignore the Supreme Court, we can definitely IGNORE HIM!

Of course advance information on US combat operations is classified. Pretending otherwise is an insult to our troops, who all know this.

I’m going to say something that shouldn’t be controversial but will be. If you are a Christian, you can support border control and immigration being legal vs illegal. You CANNOT celebrate deportations and get off on the cruelty, and be a real Christ follower. Period

So the Republican Party has historically blocked:

-Paid sick leave

-Paid family & medical leave

-Universal childcare

-Universal pre-K

-Expanded Child Tax Credit

-Programs to support reproductive health

And they're wondering why more people aren't having children?

Bcuz I used to be a Trump supporter, I engage with Trump supporters every day. Always have. Four Trump supporters today told me the exact same thing: “This is not what I voted for.” 4 random Trump supporters. Just today.

Slowly, I’m hearing this more & more from his supporters.

One cannot help but notice that every claimed abuse our "woke-scolders" nag us about, from climate change to COVID to civil rights to gendernoia, has two common characteristics:

1. Their “solutions” consistently impose ever more top-down control upon the rest of us.

2. Advancing their specific claimed "abuse" is consistently subordinated to expanding this top-down control.

It seems that our woke-scolders are Progressives first, (insert claimed abuse here) second.

Liber8or's avatar

Well said. And it seems the Progressive woke-scolders in my neighborhood have inserted themselves into the HOA, where $2 million has gone missing from budget cookie jar. They hand out exorbitant fines and harass homeowners, while their homes get remodeled using HOA contractors. They create more top-down control laws which are randomly enforced to line their pockets and make life miserable for all living things.

Corruption and greed are genetic flaws that humanity has failed to evolve past. Corruption and greed exist in all facets of human existence where the first and foremost purpose of most peoples' existence is to enrich themselves and to get gain. From the federal leviathan to the small town to the local church. There will always be someone in the organization who believes they are entitled to more and will steal what they believe is theirs. Until humanity evolves past this we will never progress to be more than what we currently are.

ezinmn's avatar

Sadly, I agree that greed and corruption are part of the human condition. And those that possess this trait in greater abundance tend to drift into positions of power and influence. It takes strong, ethical leaders, those who can absorb the slings and arrows against them, to rise up and rally the masses to counter this phenomena. I don't think we'll ever move past this dynamic.

Cankerpuss's avatar

I don't think we will either. Which means we are doomed to repeat the same lessons over and over and over again until we finally do destroy ourselves. The dinosaurs had millions of years on this rock. I doubt our civilization will even get a hundred thousand years.

JohnAZ's avatar

Just read the Bible, a fabulous tome on the lack of progression of the human condition. How many times must God destroy humans before they wise up? Is the Revelation the final straw? It is disconcerting that John’s vision shows that the vast majority of humanity will be wiped out trying to rid Earth of crappy people.

Cankerpuss's avatar

I've read the Bible, a few times. I think John was smoking Patmosian peyote when he wrote that thing. It can be interpreted so many ways that it is impossible to know exactly what he was talking about or seeing. We do know that Christ's return will usher in 1000 years of peace. Why? Because the crappy people will all be gone. But when does this happen? Who knows.

astera's avatar

Cank sez:

" I think John was smoking Patmosian peyote when he wrote that thing."

He was definitely tripping on something. I've tried to explain this to many, many Bible-thumpers, but they'll have none of it.
