We still have no plans to let the twins have phones. But all it took was for them to see us / the grandparents / some friends using ours. Now they play the game “phone”. They pick a random piece of technology - for Kai, it’s the spare remote control to some long-since-discarded device, for Lyra, it’s a handheld CO2 detector with no batteries. They lie in the crib and hit each of the buttons in turn. Sometimes they put it to their mouth and say “HELLO! HELLO!” If I ask them whether they want to go out and play and have fun, they say “NO! PHONE!”
