There was a time when X (I still call it Twitter) was the ultimate hunting ground for investors. To me it was a place where you could quite reliably find sharp, undiscovered investing cases and connect with brilliant capital allocators.
Unfortunately, it has completely devolved.
In investing terms, the platform has traded deep, fundamental analysis for a loud, opinion-led echo chamber. It has become a sea of first-level thinking and engagement bait that offers very little real value to serious investors anymore.
It is noisy. It is loud. An echo-chamber. And full of sh***.
I am incredibly glad Substack is different.
Building Atomic Moat has reinforced for me that there is still a strong community hungry for real learning, actual alpha, and engaging entertainment, without having to scream over the noise of a timeline. The signal-to-noise ratio here is unmatched because it rewards actual thought.
I really hope Chris Best and the rest of the team do everything in their power to protect this ecosystem and keep it exactly the way it is.
We need a place where quality content still matters.
