The app for independent voices

I remember when some colleagues years ago were encouraging staff to read one of his books. I was livid because even back then those of us from the South knew he was a fraud (I don’t use that word lightly for good reasons). Of course, as a Black woman, I was basically told that I couldn’t possibly know much about Appalachia and didn’t have the authority to complain. I’m born and raised in Kentucky and lived in east Tennessee for 14 years, but I’m Black and we apparently don’t exist in Appalachia. Lord, help the children who are so desperate to learn about a place that they’ll consume the words of a hate monger because they believe that white is always right.

We don't sell books by the white supremacist known as JD Vance.

Sincerely,

A BLACK-Owned Online Bookstore
