I was shopping in End of an Ear when I heard about D’Angelo. They were playing a used copy of BROWN SUGAR and I was thinking, “that’s the one I don’t have on vinyl, I should go up and buy that” and then pretty soon they were playing VOODOO because somebody else snatched it. And a guy at the register said, “Are you playing him because he passed?” And I said, “WHAT?” Truly one of the greats.
