Duke Street, Halifax, 1980

This was my first time shooting harsh backlight on pavement. It has been my favourite light ever since, perfectly suited to monochrome. It's even better if pavement is wet.

This was taken after a photo talk at NSCAD as I walked back into the bright light. I felt inspired to take photos as I often do after visiting a gallery or hearing a talk. It was taken with a Konica T4 and Tri-X film.
