people on here may not know this about me but i am a rom com purist. as in, my masters dissertation was a several thousand word roast of anyone but you and to prove that melancholy and sincerity is what made the rom coms of the 90s special, i wrote one myself and got a distinction for it. one of my biggest dreams is to write a lead role for dev patel so women can feel safe barking at the screen in the dark safety of theatres around the world.

all this to say: we need to stop letting hollywood put out these films unless the director is a sensitive freak who knows how to walk the line between horniness and warmth.
