i remember discussing over the phone with a friend about the tree of life, and how i found it very tiring to sit through. my friend on the other end, explained how, he gives some films seven viewings before coming to an opinion. he said tree of life was such a film. i thought that was a silly thing to say but then as i aged I rewatched films not seeking comfort or entertainment, but just to let it grow on me. i sat through the ones i didnt fancy on the first viewing, slowly understanding how theyve aged well. ive downloaded the extended cut of the tree of life. i should get a pizza maybe. tmrw is my seventh viewing.
