The center of Cyclone Gezani moved along the western edge of the forecast cone of uncertainty from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center forecast, resulting in the western eyewall impacting the peninsula where Inhambane, Mozambique is situated. Automated satellite estimates indicated the intensity was in the 90-100 kt range.
