When Liam Conejo Ramos was detained by ICE agents, his classmates started folding ORIGAMI BUNNIES in solidarity with Liam and all students who are unsafe. The project was inspired by the Japanese legend that folding 1,000 paper cranes grants a wish. They chose BUNNIES because of Liam’s bunny hat and because his secondary name “Conejo” means bunny in Spanish. Liam was released 12 days later. But now the Trump administration weeks to expedite his asylum case, meaning Liam and his family could be deported very soon. His classmates have asked for help in folding more bunnies.
