The vividness fallacy may explain pretty much everything on the Internet.
One old lady rolled her eyes at my toddler. This means my children “aren’t welcome in public.”
A weird old man told me to smile more. This means it every moment the patriarchy is crushing my existence.
When I went to Italy on vacation, the people who work at the hotel were kind and accommodating. This means that all Italians never worry about anything and are always at your service at all times.
One time on the Internet, I saw someone whose profile said “super MAGA “say they want to deport illegals.” This means that every single Republican wants to raid the homes of all brown people and send them to a prison in El Salvador.
This is a classic example of the vividness fallacy. This woman assumes that her experience is representative of all experience. If she finds herself with men who need to be coddled, then ALL men must need to be coddled. She would do well to ponder her own pathologies and figure out why she keeps ending up with mama’s boys.
