One of the best three set matches we’ve ever watched live was between Rafa and Carlos Alcaraz in the 2022 Indian Wells Semi-Final. This could have been seen as a passing of the torch moment if Carlitos won but Rafa headed off Father Time a little longer by beating his protege. The match would be costly though as Rafa sustained a rib injury that plagued him in the final against Fritz and caused him to miss the first part of the 2022 clay court season 👀
