Exclusive from Basha Report: Nine Filipino seafarers from the Liberian-flagged bulk carrier Eternity C are scheduled to depart Sana’a today aboard a Royal Air Force of Oman A320-214(CJ) Prestige operating as flight MJN515. The aircraft also arrived to evacuate wounded Houthi fighters injured in recent Israel Defense Forces strikes, amid heightened Houthi security deployments across the capital linked to the anniversary of former president Ali Abdullah Saleh’s December 2, 2017 uprising.

The flight from Muscat transported Houthi personnel who had been unable to return to Sana’a since Israeli Air Force strikes destroyed Yemenia Airlines aircraft and suspended Houthi-linked flights to and from the capital. The mission forms part of a series of limited confidence-building measures that Oman is pursuing to support movement in the Yemeni peace process.

In the south, political and military shifts continue to accelerate. The removal of forces not aligned with the United Arab Emirates backed Southern Transitional Council has expanded from Hadramawt into Shabwah. Early this morning, the Shabwa Defense Forces took control of Aren Camp in the Arma district.

Aren Camp, located in the buffer zone between Shabwah and Ma’rib, previously housed units that withdrew from Shabwah after the Southern Transitional Council’s 2022 offensive. These forces, operating under the Ministry of Defense and the Third Military Region Command in Ma’rib and aligned with the internationally recognized government, had recruited and trained personnel from Shabwah and Abyan to reinforce their ranks.

The Arma district also contains the Al Uqlah Block S2 concession in the Ma’rib–Shabwah Basin, roughly 275 kilometers east of Sana’a and adjacent to the Block 18 fields operated by SAFER.

Meanwhile in Hadramawt, UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council forces have consolidated their hold over the oil-rich governorate, intensifying military and security activities. They have taken control of Sayoun Airport, the Presidential Palace and guest house, and key government complex offices.

There is still no confirmed information regarding the status of the First Military Region Command, although personnel appear to have surrendered. Reports indicate the presence of POWs, wounded individuals, and fatalities, while clashes and widespread celebratory gunfire have also been documented following these developments. Political positioning in anticipation of post-war negotiations is clearly unfolding.

A Saudi delegation also arrived earlier at Al-Rayan Airport aboard a military C-130 transport aircraft. Another major development related to the Yemen peace process is underway, though it remains under embargo. It is expected to be announced within the next 48 hours.
