Any Democratic senator could have done what Cory Booker did, but only Cory Booker did it.
He was lifted up and supported by fighting Democrats like Chris Murphy.
We saw something that hasn’t been seen in Washington, DC, in quite a long while.
The whole world needed to see what Cory Booker did on the floor of the US Senate.
What did he do?
He took a stand.

As a father of a 13 year old boy, this discussion felt relevant. His older sister is 15 and this past election pretty much swung her firmly into the Dem camp (it's a special moment when your kid can launch un-prompted into a tirade on how Trump has bad tax policy). But not sure were my son will end up. The bro culture is real ... and pod like this gives me some insight into what he's probably picking up just by going to school and having friends.
And I would like to say, you can't really stop it. Growing up in the 80s & 90s, there was plenty of misogynist-lite "bro culture" for lack of a better term. The thing is, it happened off-line, and certainly didn't cross over into politics--because that was for old people.
Comments on this are as interesting as the pod itself. I think any one who is dismissing these two guys should listen harder if they want to understand where we're going. Young people are fiery, and snarky, and shocking ... par for the course. I'd be concerned if they weren't.
