To the non-engineer, vibe-coding gives the impression that you've closed the gap with experienced software engineers with AI agents.
The output is functional, everything looks good... until you go past the first few prompts, where you actually need to know the fundamentals of proper software engineering.
That's where the difference between an engineer and a vibe coder becomes prominent. No matter which LLM you use to generate the code, you'll have to know software architecture, design patterns, etc. if you want to ship reliable software.
Vibe coding is good for personal projects, demos, and prototypes. Professional software requires professional software engineers, even if you're using AI coding agents.
