I can officially say I’ve made it a few steps away from “New to Substack” hell. If you’re under 100 subs and are trying to get out yourself, here’s some tips I could have used:

• Promote your own work.

  -Substack doesn’t know you. You must get in comment sections and link your work.

• Allow your work to sit.

  -Your most recent work sits at the top of your page. New viewers will click that first - they don’t want to go digging.

• Find your friends.

  -Interact, engage, return the favor of reading a stranger, let them know what you thought. I have a beautiful community only through shared interest in one-another’s work.

• Be consistent.

  -Post daily.
