It is understandable (while simultaneously unforgivable), that so few Germans actively resisted the Nazis during the 1930s and 1940s.

During the early years of WWII, many of the worst atrocities being perpetrated by the Nazis were hushed-up, censored, or hidden to some extent from the public at large.

While the mass extermination of Jews, Romani, Communists and political opponents, mixed-ethnic people, homosexuals, and the disabled by gas chamber specifically was not widely known, by 1943 at the latest, most Germans were fully aware that deportation from Germany was a likely death sentence by some means - overwork, starvation, summary execution, etc.

While many Germans quietly accepted and agreed with the ethnic-cleansing which was part of Nazi "German Supremacist" policy, the ones who disagreed were often inclined to keep their heads down and remain silent.

Why?

Because at least 100,000 political opponents of the Nazis - mostly Communists - disappeared or perished under the Nazi regime.

The Weiße Rose (White Rose) group founded at the University of Munich in 1942, for example, distributed anti-Nazi leaflets and pamphlets during late 1942 and early 1943, before being betrayed by the university janitor who had spotted a White Rose member named Sophie Scholl scattering leaflets.

Sophie and two other White Rose members were subjected to a kangaroo court, and executed as "traitors" by guillotine within 4 days of their arrest.

So, as stated at the outset, it is understandable (but again, unforgivable), that so few Germans actively resisted the Nazis during the 1930s and 1940s.

Which leads us to the question:

Why are decent Israelis who oppose indiscriminate slaughter, atrocities, and enforced mass starvation not walking or driving en masse into Gaza with food and medical supplies?

The ruling Likud-led coalition has shown no inclination to imprison, let alone execute, its political opponents.

If Likud WERE to imprison political opponents at the same rate as Nazi Germany during WWII, there would be at least 10,766 Israelis (.1538% of Jewish-Israeli population) in prison.

The brutal answer is this:

The majority of Israelis (and many supporters of Zionism outside of Israel) quietly accept and agree with the ethnic-cleansing of Palestine, which has been part of a "Jewish Supremacist" policy in Israel since its foundation.

There are 7.2 million Jewish citizens of Israel.

Approximately 4,324,800 of these people are over the age of 15.

This means that if even 5% of Israeli adults were to rise up in opposition to genocide, they could form a citizen uprising of 216,240 people.

That is almost 10 times the number of prison places available in Israel.

In other words, if just 5% of adult Israeli citizens wanted to, they could overwhelm their government's and the Israeli Defence Forces' ability to stop them bringing food and medical aid into Gaza.

BUT IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

Surveys published in ISRAELI papers show an overwhelming 82% of Israelis support the complete removal or expulsion of Palestinians from their rightful homeland.

It gets worse.

Almost half (47%) of Israelis support the killing of every man, woman, and child in Gaza (poll by Pennsylvania State University, published in Ha'aretz).

The "good" people in Israel turn away in shameful silence.

Almost the only voices raised against the "war" (which is no "war" in any meaningful sense) are those speaking on behalf of the 20 Israeli hostages who remain in Gaza.

And while scholars have spent decades trying to ascertain exactly how much the German people knew about the crimes being committed in their name, there will be no such debate when it comes to Palestine.

The Israeli people know - the entire world knows - what is being done in their name.

It is difficult to see a path forward for the rehabilitation of the reputation of the people of Israel.

A century of Zionist propaganda has created a hate-filled nation.

The poison will destroy it from the inside.
