I can’t help but feel like pushing an aesthetic that strips you of expression, to be a blank slate of a human being, is a dangerous gateway into flattening culture–especially among communities of color. We shouldn’t flatten ourselves into indistinguishable Clean Girl clones. Not only is it BORING and lacking originality, but it fails to acknowledge the beauty of the rich, cultural history of nails–one that I strongly feel like we should preserve.
