Are you interested in a free PDF of poetry to download? How about the latest edition of Harrow House Journal?

“Harrow House was born of a desire to create a healing space for poets to share works centred on trauma, loss, and grief. It is intended to be a safe, inclusive space where pain is valid, and words are used to connect and heal. Your experiences matter.”

I’m pleased and honoured to be included in the second edition, December 2025 (the contents says page 117, my PDF reader finds it at page 130), a poem I wrote about in a Note just a day ago. At secondary school, I was taken as a student representative to a funeral of a pupil who had died in a car crash, and I think it was the first funeral I’d attended. It happened to be a Methodist funeral, which is the starting point for the poem.

I’d be really interested in any comments, reactions or criticisms of my poem you may have, of course. I’d also love to know of any favourites among the remaining poems.
