Make money doing the work you believe in

We're hiring an M&E consultant at the Africa Jobs Fund.

We aim to spend less than $10 to double one person's income for a year, which would make us significantly more cost-effective than Givewell’s top charities.

But we do this by using philanthropic funding to build high-impact for-profit companies in export manufacturing and international labour mobility.

This is not the usual approach for a non-profit and we're looking for the right way to measure our impact:

📊 RCT-grade evaluation can strangle a fast-moving startup.

📋 Light-touch reporting tells a serious funder almost nothing.

We need someone to design the middle path: measurement our funders trust and our portfolio companies barely notice.

I've written some more about the challenge of rigorously assessing our impact as well as sharing full details on the role and application.

How do you rigorously measure the impact of funding a for-profit company?
