I just started reading—and rather quickly stopped reading—what felt like an extended copyediting test before the test was taken, and the publisher should be ashamed of themselves for the disservice they’ve done to the writer, who’s no great artist (at least not that I can detect) but could have been made to look considerably better by someone half paying attention.
(Is it possible that the writer was brilliantly copyedited and rejected all the copyediting? I’m going with: No.)
