Losing muscle isn't a vanity problem. The issue is that we lose about half our strength by 70.
It’s a stairs problem. A luggage problem. A catching-yourself-when-you-trip problem. A getting-out-of-low-chairs-without-a-small internal pep talk problem.
That’s why I think we talk about muscle slightly backwards. It isn’t about looking toned. It’s about keeping the machinery of independence running.
