There was a “favorite things” list going around awhile back, and I want to do my own version—but with a twist.

I recently watched The Platform, a psychological-horror film built around the idea that each prisoner was allowed just one food item for their entire sentence. That got me thinking:

If you were trapped in some bizarre alternate reality and could only choose one thing—one food, one band, one show—for the rest of your life, what would you pick?

Here are mine:

Music (Band/Artist)

My favorite band is Iron Maiden, but their sound is pretty distinct. If it was the only thing I could listen to forever, I’d want more variety. So I’d go with The Beatles—the range is just too good.

Food

I’d pick a combination pizza. It counts as one thing, but you can still mix it up—pick off toppings, change the ratios, pretend it’s variety even when it’s not.

TV Show/Movie

This one’s tough. Do I go with something long-running or something endlessly educational?

If I go serial: The Big Bang Theory.

If I go educational: Animal Planet.

Both give me something new every time I circle back.
