The app for independent voices

Hi Lora, thanks for listening and for taking the time to share your perspective.

You’re right that there are many exceptions, and personal experience can look very different depending on location, social circles, and culture.

I know more left/woke boomers, especially in California, where I used to live. Of course, there are conservative Boomers in Cali as well.

When we speak about generations, we are referring to broad statistical trends and averages, not to every individual. Any generational description will inevitably miss many people who don’t fit the pattern.

I’ve also noticed big regional and cultural differences, especially between US and European Boomers. As a Gen X’er, there are plenty of generational characterizations of my own cohort that don’t fit with me either. That’s part of the limitation of these statistical frameworks.

My suggestion for these general descriptions is to take what fits, leave what doesn’t, and use these lenses as tools for understanding patterns rather than for personal judgment.
