When I started Best Practice I didn't call it a media company. I called it "a newsletter." Because calling it a media company would have felt ridiculous.
It's a media company.
I’ve learned that the label you give the thing shapes what the thing becomes. Call it a newsletter and you'll write a newsletter. Call it a media company and you'll build a podcast, a directory, a sponsorship model, a brand. Same starting point. Entirely different ceiling.
Most people undersell their own ambition to themselves before anyone else gets the chance to.
Stop doing that.
