Hot take: Your AI portfolio is a timestamp of when you were last relevant.

Yesterday’s post by Nate motivated me to reflect back on my years working among talent marketplaces and through helping high school and college students build portfolios through project-based learning.

But in the AI age, I don’t think “point in time” projects are good enough.

I don’t care where you worked before. I don’t care where you went to school. I don’t care what you built once, a very long time ago. I care about what you are building today, as it relates to what you built yesterday, and how you are thinking about what to build next.
