Some voices define a city and Michael Silverblatt aka The Bookworm was one that through his KCRW show The Bookeorm defined a part of LA. Not a city most people think of as a book city - nevertheless Michael’s show was a coveted stop for any author.

Michael has been called home. He was a fierce supporter. A wildly intelligent dinner companion. A friend, advocate and fully embodied what it meant to be a reader.

His own story was magical and dramatic and he helped so many people with it.

His voice was unmistakeable and his unique vision of a world shaped by books was perfectly captured by his show. He was a big thinker with a voracious appetite. He is missed. 🤍💔🤍
