I saw this man in Los Angeles today. I thought about how he used 3 pieces of taped together printer paper to make this sign. Most likely on an at-home printer that probably didn’t cooperate as they never do.  How many tries did it take to print these three pieces of paper? I thought about how he used the polite word “please” in his plea to make it all stop. I thought about how Renee Nicole Good could have strung these thoughts and this moment into a poem as poet who noticed people like him. I honked in solidarity. And I drove off thinking about how this man’s effort with the printer paper, the tape, and the “please” has more power than any spineless person in Washington.
