Anyone else raised on very confident lies… or just me?
We had giant spiders growing up and my dad told me,
“Don’t worry—they can’t climb stairs.”
Meanwhile I’d seen them:
climb curtains, come out of drains like horror movie extras, basically pay rent……but stairs?
Too advanced or their one boundary 😜
I believed him. Slept like a baby.
Now I’m the parent.
Told my kids their eyes change color when they lie—
my daughter is 23 and still looks down 😂
Not saying it’s ethical…
just saying it’s effective.
Parenting isn’t about perfection…
it’s about confidence and a completely straight face.
