This bill does not accomplish transparency. It only discriminates against those who wish to learn something new on their own time but need some financial assistance to cover travel costs. It's also an invasion of their privacy.

Details:
Requires legislative candidates, legislators, and members-elect to report travel paid for by others.
Reporting: Must file a report with secretary of state within 30 days of completing any out-of-state travel related to legislative or governmental purposes that was paid for by another individual or entity.
Required Details: Travel destination, dates, purpose, and name and address of entity that paid for the trip.
Exempt: Travel paid through campaign funds or personal funds.
Penalty: Failure to file within 30 days, will result in a late fee of $25 per day, with these fees deposited into the public school income fund.
