Are You Missing Posts from Your Favorite Substack Author? (posted 07/19/25)
After a lengthy session with Substack's chat bot, we learned why we were not receiving recent posts from authors who have organized their Substack into subsections.
For example, in Sasha Latypova’s Due Diligence & Art Substack (sashalatypova.substack.…) we were missing posts from subsections EUA Countermeasures and PREP ... | Pandemic Preparedness Racket ... | mRNA, Gene Therapies and Biom ... | Playbug: Bioweapons Fearporn
The bottom line is that these subsections were not turned on in our subscriber settings, and/or they were not turned on automatically when the author set up new subsections.
Here are the essential details, so you don't end up in the same boat we did:
Authors:
When setting up a new section via Dashboard > Settings > Sections > Add a Section…
Set up the basic information about the new section. Be sure to scroll down to:
Subscriber settings
Add new subscribers by default: If checked, anyone who subscribes to your publication will be automatically subscribed to this newsletter as well. If unchecked, they will have to subscribe to this newsletter section separately.
Copy your email list: If checked, all your current subscribers will automatically be subscribed to this newsletter.

Here's how to subscribe to sections within an author’s substack:
1. Go to substack.com/settings
2. Click on the publication under Subscriptions
3. Toggle on each section for which you want to receive notifications
