Election Integrity & Voting (Idaho & Beyond) — Op-Ed: Voters, not PACs, should decide elections. By GOP Chairwoman Dorothy Moon (12/04/25)

ED NOTE
❎ Our Voting Guide, linked below, offers many tools to help you do your own research, sniff out misinformation and bias, identify PACS that might mislead you, and find recommendations from trustworthy information sources.

This guide is not just a "vote for this guy or that gal" document; it's for voters who are serious about casting an informed vote.

Voters, not manipulative political action committees (PACs), should decide elections, yet outside groups are interfering in Idaho politics. Ms. Moon encourages Idahoans not to fall for this manipulation but to independently research candidates and vote according to their values.

Voters should be suspicious of PAC messages — especially slurs — and find out who is funding these PACs (sometimes this isn’t straightforward due to many layers of people and organizations involved).

Voters must research for themselves ahead of the 2026 legislative session, primary election, and ballot initiatives. 2026 will be a big legislative and election year in Idaho and the US.

We MUST keep Idaho and the US free and sovereign. If citizens don’t stay active and engaged, we all suffer the consequences.

Examples of PACs that have influenced voters and elections:

  • Previous Races: Young Americans for Liberty, a Texas-based group, called legislators who disagreed with them “traitors” and funded local races.

  • Idaho Falls mayoral race:

    • Idaho Liberty PAC spent nearly $30,000. This group is connected to Idaho Governor Brad Little.

    • Defend and Protect Idaho spent nearly $20,000. This group is led by former Ada County Sheriff Gary Raney and funded by left-wing groups including those supported by George Soros.
