us17.campaign-archive.c…

Scott Herndon is running again to defeat incumbent Jim Woodward for Senate in District 1 (Bonner and Boundary Counties, including city of Sandpoint and Sagle).

Herndon represented District 1 admirably until the 2024 Idaho Republican primary, when he was ousted by an opponent who spent heavily and distorted Herndon’s voting record and work in the Idaho Legislature.

In this article, Herndon outlines a win for women in Sandpoint, his goals if re-elected to District 1 in 2026, and asks for campaign donations.

We urge you to support and vote for Scott Herndon in the Idaho Republican Primary and General elections (see Voting Guide link for dates). The primary election is less than six months away

Proposed Legislation Herndon’s draft bill makes using bathroom or locker room not matching biological sex a crime.

  • First offense: misdemeanor.

  • Second offense within 5 years: felony, up to 5 years in prison.

Idaho legislative session starts January 12, 2026. Herndon requests prayers and future help for passage, including testimony via Zoom or in person.

Primary Election Details

📌 ED NOTE
Republican primaries are the most important elections in Idaho. Many Democrats and Independents register as Republicans before the primaries, either to run or to vote. Typically, Republicans selected in primaries go on to beat Democrat or Independent opponents in general elections.

That's just how it works in majority "red" states like Idaho. The opposite likely happens in majority "blue" states like California.
