The Biden administration is expanding Obamacare coverage for illegal immigrants with a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) revised rule that would count those residing in the United States under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) as “lawfully present.” This change offers a host of free benefits to people who are here illegally and should not be entitled to them.
Conservative Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador recently joined a suit with 14 other states to challenge CMS’s new rule, and he has been involved in other lawsuits to protect Idahoans against federal government overreach.
Federal support for illegal immigration is bad enough. But Idaho itself also has been supporting illegal immigration with public benefits for quite some time. The Idaho Legislature must finally end this in 2025.
House Bill 615 (2024) would have prevented Idaho illegals from accessing free health care, housing, and nutrition programs. But this legislation died in the House Health and Welfare Committee — thanks especially to now-gone Reps. Megan Blanksma and Chenele Dixon.
H615 or its equivalent must be proposed again and passed in 2025. See:
