With school just around the corner, the pressure is on to get kids “up-to-date” on their school vaccinations.

It’s important to understand the effects — short- and long-term — of vaccinating. Then parents must decide whether it’s right to inject children with poison in order to send them to school. Many states allow families to opt out of shots, but others do not.

What can parents to do to protect their children’s health while providing them with the education they need to be good, productive citizens?
