Labrador Letter: The Misinformation Campaign of the Idaho Statesman (08/30/24)

ag.idaho.gov/newsroom/labrador-letter-t…

Idaho Attorney General Labrador wrote a brilliant newsletter about how he has been censored and maligned by the Idaho Statesman's editorial board and columnists.

The Idaho Statesman is a generally left-leaning media outlet that, like so many American media outlets, deserves to be shamed and ignored for its malignant actions. (After reading AG Labrador's newsletter, consider expressing your disgust with Idaho Statesman by writing letters and withdrawing your financial and advertising support for this publication. At the very least, read Idaho Statesman with great skepticism and your best critical thinking skills.)

Labrador outlines how he attempted to clarify misconceptions in the Idaho Statesman by writing an op-ed explaining his office’s work in litigation before the Idaho Supreme Court. Mr. Labrador believed the Idaho Statesman had unfairly covered two Idaho Supreme Court cases and wanted to set the record straight. The cases involved Proposition 1's possibly fraudulent signature gathering operation and the unenforceable sale of Boise's Idaho Transportation Department campus to developers.

After much back-and-forth fact-check nitpicking with the newspaper’s editorial board, the Idaho Statesman refused to publish the work of a duly elected Attorney General of the State of Idaho.

For this reason, AG Labrador published the entire op-ed in his own newsletter. Please do read the entire op-ed to hear “the rest of the story.”
