Proposition 1: Top-Four/Jungle Primaries + Ranked Choice Voting = Idaho Elections Disaster (posted 09/01/24)
Many with a modicum of electoral gray matter strongly oppose Reclaim Idaho’s** misleadingly named “Idaho Open Primaries Act” Proposition 1 ballot initiative.
This initiative, currently being litigated in District court by Idaho’s Attorney General Labrador, is likely to appear on the November 5 ballot.
**Reclaim Idaho is a progressive leftist organization that fooled voters into supporting Medicaid expansion, misleading them about the costs which now are saddling Idaho taxpayers with unsupportable expenses.
Proposition 1 is misleading, misnamed, and 100% about replacing Idaho’s election system in which Idahoans currently:
Choose their own party’s candidates in primary elections; and
Use a simple one-person-one-vote, easily-counted, non-internet connected, auditable system to decide general elections.
Articles opposing this abominable initiative are gushing from authors’ electronic pens like water through a firehose. Following — in order of our preferences — are some recent offerings, which explain why Top-Four/Jungle Primaries + Ranked Choice Voting = Idaho Elections Disaster:
