The Tragedy of the German Commons. State interference in free market capitalism to advance social agendas has consequences. By Robert W Malone MD, MS (09/11/24)

Malone states that “The German manufacturing powerhouse, which has made the German economy the envy of Europe and the West, recently has been running into serious problems.” Read this article to see how Germany is likely the canary in the coal mine for the entire Western world, including the United States.

Dr. Malone cites many examples of how Germany is losing its leadership as a manufacturing powerhouse and being supplanted by China. Key points include:

  • Germany has strong leadership ties to the World Economic Forum (backed by China).

  • The largest employer in Germany — Volkswagen automobile manufacturing group — is under the stranglehold of unions and has made many promises it cannot keep if it wishes to remain competitive, especially with the massive Chinese auto market.

  • Germany employs socialist policies “including unfounded faith in the DEI/ESG logic of WEF Stakeholder Capitalism, and a large dose of Green Energy.” These policies are destroying Germany’s free market, increasing costs, and crippling an economy that no longer can compete with China’s long-term strategic plan to dominate the West.

  • Energy is the lifeblood of an economy. However Germany has been stripped of (and has stripped itself of) cost-efficient energy alternatives such as nuclear and natural gas. The country now is stuck with solar and wind, the most expensive sources of energy. China isn’t bound by such limitations.

  • Massive uncontrolled immigration from Africa, the Middle East, and the Indian subcontinent into Germany is causing the country to lose a culture that nurtured the growth and development of its once enviable industrial base.

  • Argentine President Javier Milei’s “afuera” policies are focused on reducing bureaucracy and government ministries. This approach sharply contrasts with German and Western bureaucratic globalism.

Midway through his article, Dr. Malone relates a poignant story:

A good friend of ours, a German-born reporter long working for a US-based Christian publication, recently visited us after returning from a visit to her native Germany. She said that she hardly recognized the place. Solar panels were on all the houses, including in quaint mountain communities that had remained unchanged for centuries, and giant electricity-generating windmills were everywhere. She said it was all incredibly ugly, and had destroyed the character of the country of her birth.

This story should sound familiar to Americans who remember the “good old days.”
