Darr Moon | The Wild West | The Bryce Eddy Show (09/12/24, podcast 35 min)

podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/darr-moon…

(ED NOTES follow this summary about the Darr Moon interview.)

Bryce Eddy is joined by Darr Moon to discuss America's forests, the mismanagement of the Federal Bureaucracies that control them and the need for Americans to stand up and claim what is rightfully ours.

Moon says the Feds have killed off timber, mining, ranching and more. Feds require permits for everything, even mushroom hunting, firewood gathering, or digging a hole.

Moon has some good solutions and points. Our dependency problem is BIG. Too much government control over our lands and our lives.

On a happier note: Young people like those he met at a recent Bozeman Trump Rally gave Darr Moon some hope.

NOTE: The Chinese will be closing down a stibnite / antimony mine in Idaho. (Antimony is used to harden lead and make bullets.)

ED NOTES: This interview is important for anyone who loves the forests, the animals, and the rural way of life. Also, very timely given our massive fires in Idaho.

Could these fires be mitigated if the Forest Service worked differently or the states that are directly affected had control? Idaho’s governor thinks so…

Different parts of the country implement different forest management policies. The fire teams on the Idaho fires came from many parts of the country, so locals had a chance to learn how fires are handled elsewhere.

Some Federal fire fighters think we should do things differently (e.g., with more prescribed burns and other fuels mitigation). Prescribed burns have been done more often over the past 5 years, but in limited areas.

The Forest Service in our area has the ultimate say about whether roads are opened to hunters and those who need firewood for the winter.

The current policy is firefighter safety over all, meaning they won’t fight the fires unless it is safe to do so.

Audience members were reassured that the critters “would be fine!” during a recent community meeting.

During the recent southern Idaho fires, public information officers, meteorologists, operations personnel, incident managers, administrators and other specialists spoke with townspeople, providing information and addressing concerns.
