Nowhere To Hyde — Standing With Boise State University. By Bryan Hyde (10/01/24, video 11:44, includes transcript)
The BSU women's volleyball team forfeited a game and took a loss rather than play a school with a transgender-identifying man on their team. Learn why it was the right move.
ED NOTE Forfeiting the game was the right move for BSU and one that other womens and girls teams should emulate.
If more biological female athletes refuse to play against biological males (except perhaps in chess and tiddlywinks), they can quash a dangerous practice that can lead to physical and psychological injuries.
Our questions for women's teams:
1. Is a "win" really meaningful when you're playing with a stacked deck (i.e. using players who have an unfair biological advantage)?
2. Is a forfeiture really a "loss" when you're standing up for what is right, not only for your own physical safety but for your entire sport and the women who follow you over time?
