Idaho Proposition 1 (Top-Four Jungle Primary + Ranked Choice Voting) — Let's kill this annoying beast! (posted 10/12/24)
🚫 DEFEAT PROPOSITION 1 👎 VOTE NO!
Proposition 1: Top-Four/Jungle Primaries + Ranked Choice Voting = Idaho Elections Disaster
So much has been and will be written about Idaho’s Prop 1, the misleadingly labeled “Idaho Open Primaries Act.”
It’s essential that voters learn the intricacies of this complex proposal — without falling for the progressive enticements of its proponents.
This is a two-part proposition:
Primary: Jungle (top-four) “all comers join the mosh pit” primaries. Party affiliations won’t matter.
General: Ranked Choice Voting (RCV). Requires computer voting machines, likely connections to the Internet, reassigns votes, throws out votes, and cannot be hand audited.
ED NOTE
Several parts of this Prop 1 are currently ILLEGAL in Idaho. Many currently election laws will be thrown out if Prop 1 passes. And did you know that the Communist Party USA strongly suppports Ranked Choice Voting?
COMMUNIST PARTY USA: Ranked Choice Voting is Part of the Struggle for Democracy (are you a Communist?): cpusa.org/article/ranke…Prop 1 will make voting less fair, more onerous, and less secure. Most voters would NOT end up with their first choice, unless their goal is to turn Idaho blue. Turnout would drop due to long ballots in primaries and complicated voting during the general (you must mark all four candidates for each race in order of preference; you may hate the choices, but you must mark them if you want your vote to count!).
