Attorney General Ken Paxton Wins Major Victory, Blocking Biden-Harris Administration’s Unlawful “Parole in Place” Policy (11/08/24)
The Parole in Place policy would have provided a path to citizenship for over a million illegal aliens who have not satisfied the clear requirements set by Congress.
This win was a joint effort by Texas AG Paxton and America First Legal and it is GREAT news!
Idaho’s own most excellent Attorney General Raúl Labrador was in on this win as well. Check out:
Quotes:
Texas AG Ken Paxton: “Once again we have stopped the Biden-Harris Administration’s radical attempts to destroy America’s borders and undermine the rule of law. This unlawful parole scheme would have rewarded more than 1 million illegal aliens with citizenship and incentivized millions more to break into our country. I look forward to the day when the federal government starts following the law again.”
Gene Hamilton, Executive Director of America First Legal: “Since day one, the Biden-Harris Administration has dedicated itself to the decimation of our immigration system and the erasure of our borders. Time and again, the States stood up. And today, the great State of Texas and the courageous Ken Paxton, alongside a coalition of other brave Attorneys General, succeeded in stopping an illegal program that would have provided amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens and paved the path for the largest administrative amnesty in American history. We are proud to stand alongside these patriots in defense of our great nation.”
Idaho AG Raúl Labrador: “The Biden Administration countered that it had “unfettered discretion” to interpret and implement the program. Unfettered discretion is not a phrase that should ever be used with government, in any circumstance. In response, I led a lawsuit with Texas which was joined by 14 other states against this blatant overreach. On August 26th, we were granted an injunction and yesterday the court issued its final opinion and judgement, halting the administration’s plan in its tracks. This is a tremendous victory for our nation, the rule of law, and for the process that millions of lawful immigrants have endured to legally reside in our nation.”
