EXCLUSIVE: As private citizen, Dr. Fauci received $15 million taxpayer-funded security detail. Open the Books uncovers unprecedented agreement with U.S. Marshals. By OpenTheBooks and Jordan Schachtel (11/07/24)
Key points:
Dr. Anthony Fauci has received $15,000,000 in taxpayer-funded security services (including chauffeur and a fully staffed U.S. Marshals security detail) – despite having returned to private citizenship in December 2022.
OpenTheBooks found no other cases of a former federal employee receiving this level of protection.
The U.S. Marshals Service typically captures fugitives and protects judges and court witnesses. The Marshals Service recently stated it could not meet these essential duties due to budget constraints. (A judge’s son was assassinated in 2020.)
Although the HHS budget funds the Marshals Services, some of the man-hours also are needed for Secret Service details.
Both RFK Jr. and Donald J. Trump received no, limited, or questionable quality Secret Service protection during their presidential campaigns. Both were physically threatened and Trump was almost assassinated — TWICE!
OpenTheBooks asks: Why was Fauci granted a year and a half of federal protection – a situation seemingly unique to federal bureaucrats – while a prominent president candidate went without it?
Read the general consensus of the Substack article’s commenters:
As a civilian, Fauci should not receive taxpayer security protection.
Fauci’s policies have killed people — for decades.
Fauci should be tried and punished for crimes against humanity.
