Wrapping Up 2024! By Idaho Freedom Caucus (12/31/24)
Idaho Freedom Caucus (IFC) members wished everyone a Happy New Year and highlighted some 2024 accomplishments. It’s an encouraging list.
Co-hosted a fall festival roller-skating event in North with Idaho Traditional Families and Candlelight Christian Fellowship.
Educated citizens about PROP 1 - Ranked Choice Voting, which was defeated by a large margin!
Hosted a Guys, Gals and Guns photo competition for our 2025 Calendar.
Sent Senator Tammy Nichols as a delegate for President Trump at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis.
Created and widely shared the group’s Vision and a plan for Idaho’s future.
Attended Lincoln Day fundraising dinners, monthly Republican Central Committee meetings, county commissioner and school board meetings, community events and county fairs to connect with constituents, gather legislative ideas, and hear concerns.
Sent a letter to President Trump requesting a visit to Idaho.
Toured various mines in Idaho along with the new Money Metals Depository in Eagle, ID; attended the North Idaho Legislative Tour in Coeur d’Alene; and visited local businesses and colleges to discuss topics related to proposed legislation.
Actively campaigned against Democrat challengers.
Three members chosen for an interim legislative Committee to address the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion movement in our schools.
Some members were hosted on The Solari Report program for an Idaho backcasting event (See the 24 page “Working Successfully with State Leaders Who Will Take Responsibility” Solari Report at wrapups.solari.com/wp-c…).
Attended the Live Action Legislative event in North Carolina to hear updates related to the post-Roe vs Wade Supreme court ruling.
Met with The American Lands Council and joined the amicus brief asking the US Supreme Court to weigh in on unallocated BLM lands and ownership.
Attended pro-family events to learn about issues such as religious freedoms, family law, historical events, and traditional family values.
Attended the Legislature organization and committee assignments for the 2025 session. Many IFC members received chairman and vice chairman positions.
House: Vice Chair positions of public members include: Hawkins-Education; Alfieri-Judiciary & Rules; Wisniewski-Commerce and Human Resources; and Scott-State Affairs.
Senate: Nichols-Agriculture Chair; Hart-Resource & Environment Vice Chair.
Finalizing language for proposed 2025 legislation in time for the opening session on January 6, 2025.
