Tips for Providing Feedback to Your Legislators
Stay active! Stay involved.
When contacting your legislator:
Address only one bill per message.
Be respectful. NO ad hominem attacks or threats, ever!
Be brief.
In the Subject line, state the action you want the legislator to take (e.g., VOTE YES or VOTE NO) and include the bill number and short description from the Medidata summary.
In the Body, repeat the desired action, provide links to the bill you support/oppose, briefly describe the bill, and explain why you support/oppose it.
Example:
Subject: VOTE YES H0001 School choice, tax credit
Body: Please VOTE YES on H0001 School choice, tax credit: legislature.idaho.gov/s….
A one-size-fits-all, strings-attached education does not work for every child. For this reason, many Idaho parents wish to educate their children outside the traditional public school system.
House Bill 1 provides a refundable education tax credit up to $9,500 for parents and legal guardians whose children are not enrolled in a public school.
This is the bill Idaho parents have been waiting for! Idaho could become the model for the best educational system in the country, allowing for more freedom, more competition, better quality, and better results for all.
